How room hours are calculated
I'm curious on how the room hours are calculated are they done so at partial level? aka will I get charged 10 room hours if the app had 9.5hr of room time or would I get partially charged the amount aka $0.015 vs full $0.03.
This is after the 10,000 hours of unlimited tier of course.

Hi @whitebozo. I'm kapa.ai, your friendly support bot. I will try to answer your question by searching through the knowledge base.

Normcore charges for room hours based on the total number of hours that a room server is running and clients are connected. If no one is actively connected to a room, the room server shuts down after 30 seconds, and you stop being charged for the room. The knowledge sources do not explicitly state whether room hours are rounded up to the nearest whole hour or if you are billed for partial hours (e.g., 9.5 hours results in a 9.5x charge rather than 10x).
However, the documentation does mention that usage numbers are tracked and updated every 24 hours, and that excess hours and bandwidth are billed at a fixed rate on the Unlimited plan, but it does not clarify the granularity of billing (partial vs. whole hours) after exceeding the included hours in the Unlimited tier. For precise billing details, especially regarding partial hours, it would be best to contact Normcore support directly for clarificationPricing.

They’re recorded to the nearest second. No rounding is done except to round to the nearest cent at the very end
If you have 60 sessions that each last one minute, you will only be charged for one hour
It’s worth noting all room servers stay running for 30 seconds after the last player disconnects to ensure reconnects can be done quickly
Thank you @Max very helpful!
sure thing!
Hey @maxweisel did you update this page https://docs.normcore.io/pricing with that info or was I just blind… I swore I looked everywhere before asking.
